Can Hard Drive Recovery Always Be Completed?

In general, the hard drive problems are caused by two types of damage; one is logical damage and the other is physical damage.

Common logical damage includes: accidental deletion/format, file system error, virus attack, software conflicts, etc. While the physical damage includes: storage medium aging, bad sectors/tracks, scratches, head crashes, etc.

When the disk failure is resulted from logical damage, hard disk data recovery can be finished easily before data have been overwritten.

Yet, when data loss is caused by physical damage, you only have to try to recover data from the damaged hard drive. But you may fail.
